Robert,

Thanks again for you quick response to this problem and minimizing the impact on our business. It is nice to work with people and Manufactures who understand and respect the importance of urgency when correcting product deficiencies. This demonstration of Integrity Driven Customer Service, in my opinion is what really separates the leaders in our industry. This quality and commitment that Solar Technology demonstrates and executes on a consistent basis is honestly one of the core reasons why Traffic Control Service, Inc enjoys our partnership. Much thanks again.

William Kearney

Garden State

Dear STI Customer Support,

In our opinion, Solar Technology manufactures products that are easily at the leading edge of traffic safety technology. The company is an industry leader which prides itself on its’ customer service – just like Garden State Highway Products. Both Solar Technology’s inside and outside sales personnel are outstanding. We cannot say enough about their excellent deliveries. If on any given Friday afternoon, Garden State tells Bill Wellman, our sales representative, that we need an arrow or message board for the Monday morning, that board will be in our yard Monday morning, Service doesn’t get any better than that!

Sincerely,
Garden State Highway Products

Balfour Beatty

Balfour Beatty Engineering

Solar Technology, Inc. recognizes that reducing traffic control equipment down-time is critical to our customers.  With this in mind, SolarTech has instituted a Customer Service and Repair department that is unparalleled in the market!  SolarTech is committed to providing outstanding customer service, making every effort to accommodate customer needs, even in the most extreme conditions and time constraints!

One example of SolarTech’s exemplary customer service efforts occurred during the February 2007 ice storm that made national headlines.  Balfour Beatty had two SolarTech message boards deployed on the now infamous Route 78 in Pennsylvania during this ice storm.  Both signs received extensive damage to the sign case and trailer frame when snow plows proceeded to clear the highway.

Even with such extensive damage and a limited staff, as many SolarTech employees commuted on Route 78 and were unable to report to work during this time, Solar Technology, Inc. repaired the sign case and trailer frames of both units in an unprecedented two days!  Mark Kanporczyk of Balfour Beatty stated that he was very pleased with SolarTech’s “excellent turn-around time” and the customer service he received was “superior by far”.  He added that he prefers to work with SolarTech’s message boards because they are “easy to program and troubleshoot”.

Advanced Workzone

Advanced Workzone Services

Advanced Workzone Services opened in August 2005 to provide traffic control, striping, and signing services for road, bridge, and railroad contractors, as well as various cities and department of transportations (DOT).  Various contractors rent Solar Technology, Inc. boards from Advanced Workzone.

SolarTech has only had a short relationship with Advance Workzone but customers, as well as employees, typically comment on the ease of programming of SolarTech’s portable message boards.

Alma Pettis, John Paul Thomas and Scott Gaddy opened Advanced Workzone in Muskogee, Ok.  Currently their primary operation is in Oklahoma, but they do provide services in Kansas and Arkansas.

Safety Systems Hawaii, Inc.

Safety Systems Hawaii, Inc.

Yuzuru Kanno opened Safety Systems Hawaii, Inc., in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1973.  He wanted to accommodate friends in the construction industry as a manufacturer and rental service of traffic barricades.  Today, Safety Systems sells and rents safety equipment, and also provides safety training. Safety Systems works closely with Solar Technology, Inc. as a dealer.

Safety Systems and SolarTech have beat out competition many times, including a 14-message board deal with the Navy Police at Pearl Harbor.  Safety Systems also sells SolarTech boards to construction companies, and state, county and federal governments.  Kelly Galdones, from the county of Hawaii, likes that SolarTech boards are simple to program, and that hardware is included on the unit because it makes it’s easy and convenient unlike competitor’s boards where a laptop needs to be hooked up to the unit to program it.  Micah Roquiero, Safety Systems’ marketing coordinator, feels that SolarTech has a very good response time when they are contacted, especially the customer service department.  He also feels that their development and technology is constantly bringing improvements to the equipment and to the end users.

In May 2006, Byron Zerphy, SolarTech CEO, and Diane Zerphy, Vice President, Marketing, CFO, exhibited SolarTech message and arrow boards at the Pacific-Rim Safety and Health Conference along with Safety Systems.  The conference is the premier safety and health conference in Hawaii, which provides safety practitioners with state-of-the-art programs and dynamic technical presentations, to assist in maximizing the safety efforts of their organizations.

Pratt

Walter S. Pratt and Sons, Inc.

Walter S. Pratt & Sons, Inc. has been a SolarTech dealer for over 15 years.  They have been an outstanding partner, and have provided SolarTech with not only superb sales representation in New York state and surrounding areas, but also assisted by providing product and service recommendations which helped to keep us at the forefront of technology and the industry.

NTCIP compliance will likely be mandated in all 50 states in the near future.  Recently, the New York State (NYS) Thruway purchased 10 NTCIP compliant SILENT MESSENGER Message Boards.  The boards operate so well that the NYS Thruway is considering retrofitting all existing message boards in the field to NTCIP compliance.

Alex Shannon of Walter S. Pratt and Sons, Inc. deems that their success with the NYS DOT and NYS Thruway Authority is a result of a very favorable working relationship between Walter S. Pratt and Sons and Solar Technology.  He believes in the “class and quality of a SolarTech” and is “very proud to sell” the SolarTech product.

Walter S. Pratt and Sons, Inc. has been serving the construction industry for over 60 years and proudly represents over twenty major manufacturers in the construction, manufacturing, chemical, petroleum and solar energy industries. The Walter S. Pratt Company was formed in the early 1940s as a construction-contracting firm.  In the mid 1950s, two of Mr. Pratt’s sons joined the business, and the company name was changed to Walter S. Pratt and Sons, Inc. (1959).  Shortly after, the business began to focus on construction equipment rental, sales, and service. Their rental equipment business extends to all parts of New York State, as well as the states of Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

We would like to thank Walter S. Pratt and Sons, Inc.  for their longtime dedication and partnership efforts that have helped us to become the industry leader that we are today.
